DESCRIPTION:

Copper sulfate is a chemical compound and ordinary copper salt, also known as Copper (II) sulfate, Blue stone or Blue Vitriol. It is blue in color in penta hydrate, white in mono and gray in anhydrous. Copper sulphate penta hydrate is a stable form of copper sulphate, copper metal and concentrated sulfuric acid are used for its production. Copper sulfate is used as an additive in animal feed to promote growth and correct copper deficiency in animals. The main application of copper sulfate is in the agricultural industry. It can be used as fertilizer to help correct soil shortages in the soil. In addition, it acts as a preventative fungicide. It is mixed with slaked lime, known as Bordeaux blend. It is used to prevent the growth of fungi on fruits like grapes. In addition to plants, it is also used in cattle, sheep and horses by making foot baths containing copper sulphate to help prevent and treat fungi. Another great use of copper sulfate is in the mining industry where it is used in the flotation process mainly in lead, zinc and gold mines. In the metal industry, copper sulfate can be used in copper coating.
