DESCRIPTION:

Iron sulphate is sold as iron sulphate heptahydrate, which is used to lower the pH in soils (in highly alkaline soils) so that plants can extract nutrients from the soil. In gardening, it is used to treat iron chlorosis. Although not as fast acting as iron ethylenedinitrile tetraacetate (EDTA), the effects of iron sulfate are far longer lasting. It can be mixed with compost and dug into the soil to create a stock that lasts up to several years. It is also used in grass softening and moss preparations.
